Hi Dona. It is GREAT, a stage of this cycling event is in your area. Great exercise for those who participate and it has to be a fun spectator event as well.
Donna - I will echo your comments. I watched Stage 1 that rode through Downtown, Soulard, and Lafayette Square. It was pretty amazing to watch between the cyclists in the lead, the pelotin, and the support vehicles. Some world class teams in this year's event. I'm going to post some video to my blog later today.
Hi Ryan: Their is some first class riders in these teams for sure. People really do not realize the training that is required to be one of these riders, let alone the their physical condition. I will be on the look out to see some of your video as I know it will be awesome! Thanks for commenting and hope to see you soon.
Gary: The tourism that comes with these bikers is always welcomed in the cities participating. Exercise and health wellness is very important in our lives and everyone should have some type of daily excerise (simple or extreme) in their life. Good to see you and I hope to see you soon.
Dona - Here is the link to my blog post and video from the race. I am solely to blame for the poor quality of the video and photos. However, I really enjoyed this race as well as the Gateway Cup races over Labor Day weekend. http://activerain.com/blogsview/1229803/2009-tour-of-missouri-bike-race-stage-1-downtown-st-louis-soulard-lafayette-square If you have the opportunity, I would recommend getting to the race and watching it as it was great fun.
Ryan, Thanks for the link, just visited your blog. The public really doesn't know that these guys are riding over 600 miles in 7 days and Missouri is one of the top ranked.
