The 139th Airlift Wing- MO Air National Guard, St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce, City of St. Joseph, and Buchanan County will host the 2010 Sound of Speed Air show at the Rosecrans Memorial Airport May 1-2, 2010. Gates will open at 9am and close at 5pm. The event will be free to the public for general admission but will be accepting donations for local charities. Reserved and premier seating will be available ranging from $15-$60 and will seat 1,100.
The Sound of Speed Air Show will feature over 15 flying performances from the flying circuses to leaping frogs. The main performance will be performed by the Blue Angels, the U.S. Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron.
St. Joseph hosted a similar event in 2006 with crowds soaring over 20,000. Mark your calendars, you don't want to miss this event!

Being an Air Force brat, I grew up loving air shows and the Blue Angels always have that same goose-bump effect on me! I hope you're going and I hope you're taking lots of photos too--if you're quick enough to catch them!

Debe, How cool that your a military kid! We plan to go and possibly about noon, so we can see everything early and get some good photo shots. I anticipate it being tough to get some moving shots but will give it my best shot! Have a great weekend!
I used to like those air shows when I was a kid and lived about two miles from one. Now I'm wondering just how much it costs the bankrupty federal government to put them on.
Jim: I really like the air shows and yep it costs a lot of money for them to be put on. They are spending the taxpapers money so we may as well enjoy the air show anyway. Have a great week.
