Speechless Sunday~Midwest Winter Friends

Midwest Winter Friends

Saturday it was almost 60 degrees, it really gave a false impression, that spring was here!  This is a view from my deck.  The geese are really fun to watch, early in mornings they fly away to feed in the area farm fields returning about dusk they all come flying in.  I am also thankful that our doberman keeps them in the lake.

Dona, it reminds me of a geese convention in St. Joseph I once attended : ) I wasn't invited this year because all the ponds were already booked. Great photo.

Dona,

That's a lot of geese (I counted over 750) in your neighborhood!   It does make for one great picture.  Thanks for sharing.

Does your doberman keep them in the lake, or do the geese stay in the lake to stay safe from the doberman? Just like real estate -- seller or buyer -- it depends on your perspective. LOL

Dona,

We have a small pond in our community and the geese and ducks gather there too. People feed them so they don't leave for the winter. Nice shot.

Hi Gary!

There has been so many geese this year.  I am really sorry you could not make it to the convention this year but please plan ahead for next year! LOL

Hi Terrie!

My home office is the best seat in the house.  I prefer to work at my real estate office during the day as my home office has to many views and I am always pre-occupied with them.

Hi Gerry:  If there was 750 in the photo then the other 9000 were at the other end of the lake as there has truly been thousands this year.

Hi Jim:  My dob would not hurt these geese however she has been trained to chase them out of the yard!  You would not have any type of yard at all if you allowed them to take over.  I love gardening and this photo shows the suprise I got last year from the geese!

Hi Richard:

When they fly in every night about 5:30 there is litterly hundreds of them.  They barely clear the top of my roof sometimes.  I fed them the first year but never never again they can destroy your yard in a very short time.   Thanks for stopping by today

Hi Jonathan!  We are so fortunate (????) this year to have thousands of them and this is only one end of the lake.  I am glad they stay in the lake! LOL

Hi Jim!  I think this year they turned all the geese up north loose and we were fortunate to get all of them, it has been bitter cold here this winter maybe that is why we are so lucky.  Most of them will leave the closer we get to spring.

Dona, that's quite the gaggle! No wonder you go in to the office to work. Nice shot in the early morning light.

Hi Maria!  I was never a home office worker in the day time.  They are fun to watch but they can be hard on lawns.  Thanks for stopping by

Good thing the dog keeps them in the lake...no "land mines" to avoid.  lol

Hi Dona, Give that Dobie extra treats. You don't want him to go on strike with that many birds around!

Hi Tony! One of my neighbors does not have a pet and at times you can not see his yard for all the geese.  My pet was originally trained to not let the geese get in my flower garden so now she just keeps them out of the entire yard.

Hi Marian!  Believe me when I tell you that I really do have a spoiled dobe, she has been one of our family members for over 13 years, wouldn't know what to do without her.
